Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar was established in 1992 by Achyuta Samanta. KIIT was declared Deemed to be University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. KIIT has a total of 7 affiliated colleges. The entire KIIT campus is spread over an area of 200 acres of land. KIIT is a private academic institution located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. KIIT Bhubaneswar achieved ‘Tier 1’ accreditation by NBA in 2014. KIIT University has been ranked 39th in the engineering category and 10th in the law category in NIRF 2021 Ranking. As per the NIRF Ranking 2021, the university has secured 36th rank in the medical category,  21st in the university category, 31st in the management category and 39th in the overall category. The university has been accredited by the NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. 

KIIT University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level courses in various disciplines like engineering and architecture, computer application and IT, sciences, animation and design, arts, humanities and social sciences, media, mass communication and journalism, management and business administration, commerce. KIIT Bhubaneswar offers a strong platform of experiential learning with partnerships with industry and global institutions. The total number of faculty members there in Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology is 1097 and the total student enrollment is 25134.

Admission Process

KIIT University offers 30 undergraduate programmes. KIIT courses at the UG level include B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Com Hons, B.Des, B.Sc Computer Science, B.A.(Hons), Bachelor of Film and Television Production, B.C.A, B.Tech and M.Tech Biotechnology Dual Degree and Master of Mass Communication Integrated. The course duration of the KIIT B.Tech programme is 4 years and the KIIT B.C.A. programme is 3 years. To be eligible for KIIT B.Tech admission, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent with an aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics have taken together.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar has a Career Advisory and Augmentation Services department that takes care of all the activities related to KIIT placements. Students undergo various training programmes so that they can develop the requisite competencies and prepare themselves for the KIIT University placements. Through its industry collaborations, the KIIT University understands the pulse of corporate work and prepares the students to be industry-ready. Every year several companies participate in the KIIT University placement drive and roll out offers to students. 

As per the KIIT placement report for the graduating batch of 2022, over 300 companies from different sectors visit the campus for placement drive. Over 140 plus companies offered a CTC of Rs.5 LPA or more. According to the KIIT University placement report (from the official website), the highest salary offered is Rs. 52.00 LPA by Yugabyte whereas the average CTC stood at Rs.6.05 LPA. Campus

KIIT University is located at KIIT Road, Patia, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Bhubaneswar is well connected via flights, trains, and buses. Patia P.H. Railway Station is 2.5 km away and KIIT Bus Stop is 230 metres away from KIIT University. Biju Patnaik International Airport is about 13.1 km away and it will take around 30 minutes to reach the KIIT campus. Students can take a bus or a taxi to reach the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar.
