TISSNET

Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai conducts TISS National Entrance Test (TISSNET). It is a university level entrance exam conducted for admission to MA programmes in the School of Management and Labour Studies. The MA programme in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations offered at TISS campuses is at par with the management programmes offered by top MBA colleges in India. The entrance exam is held in CBT mode and the exam paper comprises questions from English Proficiency, Mathematical Skills & Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness. 

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for appearing in TISSNET 2023 exam has been given below:

Academic Qualification

• The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised university
• Candidates who will complete their final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent by June 2023, can also apply
• Candidates pursuing a 3-year bachelor’s degree should have passed all the 4 semesters at the time of filling TISSNET application form whereas those pursuing a four-year bachelor's degree must have cleared all the subjects up to the sixth semester
• Shortlisted candidates should produce original certificates and mark sheets on the date of the personal interview. Those who are in the final year of the degree programme are required to produce the mark sheets of all previous semesters

Age Limit

• There is no defined age limit for appearing in TISSNET 2023 exam.

Work Experience

Candidates applying for Master of Arts in (Organisation Development, Change and Leadership) should have at least 2-year work experience in any field (after graduation).

Exam Pattern

TISSNET question paper is divided into three sections:- English Proficiency, Mathematical Skills and Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness. While English Proficiency and Mathematical Skills & Logical Reasoning carries 30 marks each, the General Awareness Section has a weightage of 40 marks.

Syllabus

TISSNET Syllabus 2023 is prescribed by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. It outlines the topics and sub-topics under each section of the exam. TISSNET syllabus is divided into three sections?English Proficiency, Mathematical Skills and General Awareness. TISSNET 2023 will be held tentatively in third week of February 2023, and TISSNET registration will begin tentatively in second week of December 2022. To score well in the entrance exam, candidates are expected to have a thorough understanding of the TISSNET syllabus. TISSNET is conducted for a duration of 1 hour 40 minutes. Knowing the time limit candidates must chalk out the TISSNET preparation tips following the time limit and number of sections in the question paper. 

1. Be thorough with the syllabus and exam pattern of TISSNET

2. On the basis of the previous year question papers, candidates must mark the important topics and weightage for each

3. Analyse the preparation level with the help of mock tests and sample papers

4. Mark the strong and weak areas with the help of a mock test and prepare the timetable accordingly

5. Candidates must focus on the weak areas after revising the strong areas

6. Become part of study groups on social websites and discuss problem areas and questions.
