Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences is a part of KIIT University. The institute is located in Bhubaneswar which has two units – the hospital and the medical college. KIMS Bhubaneswar provides MBBS & MD courses with a capacity of 100 seats. All the courses of the institute are recognised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under the Government of India and the Medical Council of India (MCI). KIMS Bhubaneswar provides various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including MBBS, MD Anaesthesiology, MD General Medicine, MS General Surgery, MD Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MD Pathology, MD Radiodiagnosis and Radiology, MS Orthopaedics, MD Community Medicine, MD Paediatrics, MD Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, MD Ophthalmology, MS ENT, DM Gastroenterology, MD Psychiatry, MD TB and Respiratory Medicine, Diploma in Critical Care Medicine, DM Cardiology, DM Neurology, Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine, M.Ch Neurosurgery, MD Anatomy, MD Biochemistry, MD Forensic Medicine, MD Microbiology, MD Pharmacology, MD Physiology etc.

Admission Process

Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences Bhubaneswar offers admissions to the MBBS programme based on NEET UG scores, to M.D, M.Ch and D.M programmes based on NEET PG scores and to diploma and Ph.D programmes based on the marks of the written test scored by students. Students also have to appear and qualify for the counselling process of NEET UG and NEET PG. Detailed description on all programmes, its admission procedure and other details are mentioned below.

For MBBS programme-

  • Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS programme need to appear and qualify NEET (UG).

  • Based on the qualifying marks achieved by candidates in NEET (UG), they will have to register themselves on IMS Bhbaneswar’s official website.

  • Admissions to KIMS Bhubaneswar will be based on the score in NEET UG, document verification and fee payment. 

For M.D/M.Ch/D.M programmes-

  • Candidates seeking admission to these PG programmes need to appear and qualify NEET (PG).

  • Based on the qualifying marks achieved by candidates in NEET (PG), they will have to register themselves on IMS Bhbaneswar’s official website. 

  • Candidates have to undergo document verification and have to pay the required fee at the college. 

  • Admissions to KIMS for PG programmes will be based on the score in NEET PG, document verification and fee payment. 

For Diploma/Ph.D programmes-

  • Candidates seeking admission to Diploma/Ph.D programmes need to mail their CV along with the application form.

  • Candidates need to submit the application and examination fees and the money receipt is to be attached along with the application form.

  • Eligibility

    Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS programme need to appear and qualify NEET (UG).

    Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences is located in Bhubaneswar. The nearest Airport to KIMS Bhubaneswar is Bhubaneswar Airport which is approximately 14 kms away and it takes 16-20 mins to reach the institute. Students can hire a cab or book an auto from the Airport and reach the campus. Students reaching the city by train can get down at Bhubaneswar Railway Station which is about 12 kms away and would approximately take 14 mins to reach the institute. City buses are also available to reach the campus.
