SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), formerly known as SRM University, is one of the top-ranking universities in India with over 20,000 students and more than 2600 faculty across all the campus. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in Engineering, Management, Medicine, Health Sciences, Science and Humanities. The research department at the SRMIST carries out cutting edge research in frontier areas with more than 224 government-funded projects at an outlay of INR 115 Crores. 

SRMIST has started the 2022 placement drive during which it achieved record placements. The 2022 graduating batch received more than 10000 offers. 1000+ recruiters visited the campus. Major recruiters included Amazon, PayPal, Google, Morgan Stanley, VM Ware, Accolite, TCS, Wipro, Wells Fargo & many more. CS/IT students received an average salary of INR 9.5 LPA. The highest salary package received was INR 1 CPA.

Admission Process

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, formerly known as SRM University, is a private deemed to be a university that offers various undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) & Doctoral courses across all its campuses.

At present, SRM University has four major campuses and the courses are offered in diverse streams such as Engineering, Architecture, Health Sciences and Management. Usually, the registration process commences in the month of September every year and admission is done on the basis of different entrance tests conducted by the university. Students can apply for any of the university campuses located at Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Amravati (Andhra Pradesh) & Sikkim.

Candidates can visit the official website to apply. Candidates are required to pay an application fee of INR 1100.

• SRMJEEE is conducted by the university for admission to B.Tech and M.Tech programs.
• Last Date to fill out the SRMJEEE Application form is March 30.
• Selection of candidates for B.Arch, M.Arch is done on the basis of NATA scores.
• In the case of MBA, candidates are shortlisted through SRMJEEM conducted by the university.
• Admission to MBBS, BDS is done on the basis of NEET marks.
• For MD/ MS admission, NEET PG scores are considered.
• Selection to rest of the UG, PG medical courses is done through SRMJEEH or qualifying exam marks.
• Candidates will be shortlisted for the UG, PG and Diploma programs based on qualifying examination marks.
• For Ph.D, admission is done through university entrance examination followed by presentation and interview.

  Eligibility

  Passed in Higher secondary examination (10+2 pattern ) with minimum 50% marks or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects in regular stream from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE, Matriculation, or NIOS

  Or International Baccalaureate A level with Mathematics/Biology, Physics or Chemistry from any international school located in India.

  Placements

  At SRM Institute of Science and Technology, students get opportunities every year with competitive pay packages and profiles to meet the aspirations of students from a wide variety of industries and companies visiting the campus. The institute is conducting its placement drive for the batch 2022 and a students was offered the a salary package of INR 1 CPA which was offered by Amazon. About 4000 students were offered Super Dream Offers (INR 10 LPA or more) or Dream Offers (INR 5 LPA or more).

  A total of 10,000 students were placed by 1050 participating recruiters. Some of the top recruiters like Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Infosys participated in the placement drive.

  SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), formerly SRM University, is a private higher education institute deemed to be university, located in Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu (near Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, it gained the deemed status in 2002. SRM Institute of Science and Technology includes five campuses, four in Tamil Nadu — Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani, and Tiruchirappalli, and one in NCR Delhi.
