Established in 2005, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Karad is a private deemed to be university. The university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade. Furthermore, the Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). The varsity is also recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).  The university is also known as KIMS Karad. The varsity campus covers an area of 57 acres and there are 284 faculty members at the university. As per the official website, the mission of KIMS Karad is to develop competent and compassionate professionals with sound knowledge and excellent skill. The institute has secured 38th rank in the Dental category in NIRF 2021 Ranking. Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad has secured 42nd rank in the Medical category in NIRF 2021 Ranking. In NIRF ranking 2020, the institute was placed at 90th position amongst the top universities.

 

The university offers a total of 68 programmes at diploma, UG, PG and doctoral levels. The university considers NEET scores for M.B.B.S. and B.D.S. admission. Candidates are required to obtain a valid score in NEET PG and NEET MDS for admission to M.D./M.S and M.D.S. courses respectively. For admission to M.Ch. courses, KIMS Karad accepts NEET SS scores. Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Karad offers numerous scholarships and placement opportunities to its students. The campus of the university is made lively by academic and extracurricular events conducted at regular intervals. For the convenience of students and faculty members, KIMS Karad campus has modern and upgraded facilities. The infrastructure of the university is also upgraded.

Admission Process

Candidates can apply for admission to diploma, UG, PG and doctoral programmes offered by KIMS Karad. The university offers admission to its courses based on candidates' performance in entrance examinations. Krishna Institute of Medical Science Karad admission to B.P.T. course is done based on the CET conducted by the university. The varsity accepts NEET scores for admission to M.B.B.S. and B.D.S. courses. As per the KIMS Karad admission process, candidates need to appear for the Krishna All India Entrance Test for admission to M.Sc. and M.P.T. courses. NEET PG and NEET MDS scores are considered for admission to M.D./M.S and M.D.S. programmes respectively. 

The university conducts All Indian Ph.D CET (AIPHDCET) for admission to Ph.D course. According to the KIMS Karad admission procedure, the final selection of candidates for admission to the Ph.D course is done after a personal interview. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria of the desired course can visit the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences admission portal to apply for admission.
